Anglo Continental School of English
British Council accredited and a member of ARELS
A very big school with excellent, modern facilities and buildings with
a large restaurant serving a wide range of food. There is a huge variety
of courses, lots of classrooms and lots of students. Some students may
feel that Anglo Continental is a bit like a factory, but the majority of
students are very satisfied. There is an extensive social activities programme,
especially in the summer.
Anglo continental is the biggest school in the area and has been teaching
English for over 50 years. They have schools in London and the USA. Anglo
Continental's teachers are all well-qualified.
There is a large variety of courses. For example, the over 50's course
is, as far as we know, unique. We recommend this course to mature students
who may be concerned about being in a class with much younger students.
Usually there are lessons in the morning with excursions and activities
in the afternoon. This is a very popular course, with mature and experienced
teachers. We have met students from this course and they have all been
very happy.
Anglo Continental's other courses are excellent, from General English to
Business, Academic and Examination classes - a huge variety. We would say
this is the future for Anglo Continental.
A large, well-run and organised, professional school.
We only recommend schools after careful inspection. We are in regular contact
and communication with our recommended schools to ensure they continue
to meet our high standards.
We only recommend schools that employ well-qualified teachers, are professional
and competent.
There are some schools that do not employ qualified teachers and who do
not behave in a professional manner. These schools do not appear on our
listings and we do not recommend them.
BEET Language Centre
British Council and member of ARELS
BEET is an independent friendly school but facilities are limited. The
building used to be a church school in the 19th Century. At present there
are 20 classrooms, a library and a computer room.
The school offers a free e-mail service in the morning before classes.
The cafeteria serves snacks, drinks and light lunches.
There is strong student support at BEET for accommodation and living in
Bournemouth.
The school can assist with University entrance and has a good reputation
for this.
